Sunshine Coast GM Show and Shine July 23, 2023

We had great weather and a fantastic turnout for today’s Show and Shine at Sunshine Coast GM in Wilson Creek. This is the same place that Coasters Car Club had their first ever Show 27 years ago.

Thank you to everyone who came out, it was a great day.

Thank you to Sunshine Coast GM for hosting us and supplying hot dogs and drinks.

And an extra big thank you to Jac Cawsey for making it happen.

Website Updates July 21, 2023

We are very happy to announce that with the help of Daryl from Greymouse Services in Gibsons we are once again able to update our website.

For now we will just be updating the urgent things, then after Sleepy Hollow we can look at giving the site a major refresh.

Stay tuned.

The Coaster Car club. See you next year August 11-12 2023

Hoppy Spring

Our Deepest Condolences to Mary Cochet and the family on the passing of her husband Bill Cochet  Bill has been an active member of the Club since it’s early days of existence.  Mary and Bill have been hosting the Pender Harbor Food Bank run and BBQ at their home every year.  The family are holding a Celebration of Life on June 9th, 2022 and have requested the Car Club save the day for them.  We will have a run for Bill to the Pender Harbor Legion to honor Bill.  We will be  leaving Sechelt to arrive at the Legion for 12:00 noon.  Time  schedule will follow closer to the date….

The Club’s first General meeting will be on March 15th, 2022 at 7:00pm at the Davis Bay Community Hall.  We welcome all members old and new to  attend and find out what is happening this 2022-23 year.  It has been a long 2 years since we have been able to use the hall and to have gatherings so hopefully a good number of members are ready to dust themselves off and get going!

The Executive and Directors are requesting the membership come out and get active in some capacity.  We have received notification from Deb Jackson that she has retired from her Position as SLEEPY HOLLOW REGISTRAR. Our heartfelt thanks to Deb for all your years of participation and diligent work.   Deb will be missed beyond words but after so many wonderful years with Deb we have to say good-bye….!  Deb and Scott have become involved with the ownership of LITTLE BAY RESORT at Pender Harbor  so she is tasked daily with jobs there.  That being said, Deb has said she will wo up to help us out!!  Deb has said she will work with the person taking over her position of Registrar to  make the transition.

The Club also requires an ACTIVITIES PERSON who can organize Club activities and outings.    This is as simple as letting members know where and when to meet for coffee or a place to meet for lunch on a day and time.  Maybe a trip off coast?

If we wish to have a successful year, Rod Run and Sleepy Hollow Show n Shine 2022 we must have some committed members step up to help out!

From Ken and Dianne: Light Parade and Christmas Wishes

Light Parade

The Executive and Directors have registered the Car Club into the Light Parade to take place on December 11th 2021.  Richard Frappier has donated his truck with a flat bed and lights.  We have a couple of blow-ups and a tree which should be quite colourful.  Alan and Evelyn Hemstreet have donated their covered carport at 5595 SC Hwy.  Anyone interested in helping to decorate can meet at 2:00 pm on the 11th of Dec at Hemstreets.  The float is to be at Hackett Park at 5:15 pm.  The parade will set off at  5:45 pm.

Ken and Dianne would like to take this opportunity to wish all members the Best of the Christmas Season and wishing you all A  Very Happy New Year.  It has been another testy year this 2021 and we can only hope for a brighter year in 2022.  Stay well and stay bright as we all move on to brighter days!

Good morning Ken

Please send a huge thank you to all the drivers and their amazing cars for coming bye Totem lodge last night.

I’m not sure if everyone could see us in Totem lodge, but we were all lined up two rows deep in the dining room and at their bedroom windows.

Everyone was so happy and we are very much looking forward to see you guys again next year when the weather gets better.

All our best,

Totem Lodge Residents-
